About my practice
A senior practitioner across user research, product design, accessibility and systems thinking.
I bring evidence, standards, pragmatism and leadership experience, informed by more than 20 years of hands-on work across research, design and accessibility. My current role focuses mainly on leadership, standards and enablement, while independent projects help me continue developing my practical skills.
Profile
More than 20 years across research, design and delivery.
I currently work as UX Manager at Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, having previously been a Lead and Senior UX Designer. My role now focuses mainly on leadership, defining standards and improving how design, research and accessibility operate across the organisation.
I have always been happiest making things, testing them and learning from what happens. That balance of creativity and analysis has shaped more than 20 years in UX.
My first 12 years in UX included hands-on HTML, CSS and JavaScript. That technical foundation still helps me connect evidence to interface detail, design systems, experimentation and what is practical to ship.
I am most useful when a team needs clarity: what decision are we making, what evidence would change it, what can the result honestly support and what should we do next?
Capability
A connected practice across evidence and delivery.
Research
Remote unmoderated usability and quantitative research are particular strengths. I have run hundreds of studies across web and app, using behavioural and attitudinal testing to understand both what people do and what they think. Methods include prototype evaluation, surveys, card sorting and comprehension studies.
Behavioural evidence and experimentation
I mainly use remote unmoderated usability testing to observe what people do, alongside attitudinal testing to understand what they think and feel. I bring those findings together with quantitative measures and other evidence, including Quantum Metric, session recordings and product data. Comparing sources helps me check whether a pattern holds up. My experience also includes hypothesis development and around 50 CRO tests.
Product design
Product design has been central throughout my career, from early concepts and prototypes to detailed web and app experiences. It remains an important part of how I connect evidence to practical design choices.
Accessibility
My accessibility experience includes enablement and remediation programmes, requirements definition, web and app audits, component standards, working through third-party findings, accessible documentation and planning research with disabled people.
Design systems
I work across design-system strategy, governance and practical implementation. My independent work includes an open-source, machine-readable accessible design system connecting documented standards, design decisions and implementation.
Leadership, operations and enablement
I have led design teams, CRO activity, accessibility programmes and cross-functional work. My current focus is on standards, capability and the operations that help design, research and accessibility work effectively.
